(Shawbury, UK) April 24, 2025 – Smithers, a global leader in testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, is pleased to announce the promotion of Gareth Wynne to the position of Senior Operations Director in Europe for the Medical Device Testing Division.
As Senior Operations Director, Wynne will continue to oversee both the Shawbury, UK and Neu-Isenburg, Germany sites, while partnering closely with senior leadership to drive the strategic growth of Smithers Medical Device Testing Division across the region. This newly established role will ensure client commitments are met while enhancing the overall experience across sites, reinforcing Smithers brand promise of delivering accurate data, on time, with a high-touch approach.

Wynne joined Smithers in 2018 as the Operations Director for Physical Functional Testing, based in Shawbury, UK. He has obtained his Honors Bachelor's Degree of Mechanical Engineering from Birmingham City University. Under his leadership, the Shawbury team has achieved exceptional growth and operational success, further strengthening Smithers position as a trusted partner to the medical device industry.
In 2024, Wynne was instrumental in the selection and development of a new laboratory facility in Neu-Isenburg, near Frankfurt, Germany. His guidance and vision lead to a fully operational, state-of-the-art facility poised to support Smithers expanding client base in continental Europe.
