Biogas is slowly being utilised more commercially. With buses in Switzerland being run on this by-product from industrial and domestic waste, it seems like this fuel is proving itself as a sustainable way of powering our modern world. It is even being used on an individual level in remote rural locations in India, where gas is extracted from manure and used to cook, making it incredibly environmentally sound.
But can biogas become a viable alternative to more traditional fuels? The issues of mass production, distribution and use are all potential stumbling blocks for this alternative fuel
This study looks at the future of biogas and whether it could be used commercially as a replacement for fossil fuels. It looks at how processes, efficiency and sustainability can all be improved to encourage the growth of the biogas and factors in the industry that could affect this.
